Fire alarm design, supply, installation, and commissioning

Ultimate Fire and Security supply a vast range of fire alarm services for public, industrial, and commercial clients. We are able to design and commission bespoke systems to meet your fire alarm system requirements.

We offer a free site survey to discuss your detailed requirements, then arrange everything from system design through to installation, commissioning and hand-over. Often organisations do not know their obligations until after a fire risk assessment or insurance company review.

Fire alarms

You need to ensure that your fire alarm system is specifically designed to meet the needs of you and your business. No two designs are ever the same because every business (and often its insurance company requirements) is different.

Installation & commissioning

All fire alarm systems are installed to the latest standards and all our equipment is of the highest quality and is designed to minimise the risk of false alarms. You will be provided with a detailed drawing of your system layout which will be needed if you wish to add to the system in the future or to detect problems.

Following installation checks are completed to ensure every aspect of our work meets the specifications in our design. Following completion the full system will be tested to make sure everything works as it should, then we hand-over the completed fire alarm system to you. You then receive all the necessary documents, certificates, operating manual and logbook.

Non-addressable systems

These systems are normally suited to smaller buildings and usually consist of 10 to 25 detection devices.

Addressable systems

These systems are normally suited to larger buildings and are capable of complex programming to provide a wide range of applications. Solutions often involve ventilation systems, fire breaks and the closing of fire doors on corridors.

Radio fire systems

These systems are normally suited when wiring isn’t allowed, such as in churches, stately homes and listed buildings.

Wireless fire alarms

We are recognised as an installer of the new XPander range of wireless fire alarm detectors and sounders. Our engineers have attended the Apollo Fire detectors training program in Havant at Apollo’s head office.

As well as installation, commissioning and testing, we can provide radio surveying a site for compatibility and system design including detector types and suitability.

The XPander range is designed for use where wired detectors are either impractical or undesirable and offers an instant fire protection solution using existing XP95-compatible control panels. No special adjustment or programming is required: once connected, the XPander devices are simply recognized by the control panel as another detector connected to the system.

Fire risk assesments

We are specialists in fire risk assessment and employ a dedicated and highly trained professional in this field.

Depending on your exact requirements we will attend your site, discuss your requirements and carry out the fire risk assessment further. Once completed we will present our findings to you and then, where required, will suggest corrective measures. The measures may be for compliance with current regulations or to ensure you and your business operate in a safer environment.

Our fire risk assessments are non-intrusive and take up little of your time. A small amount of time and money invested can ensure you and your business are protected in the long term.

New fire safety rules

The new fire safety rules in England and Wales state that responsibility for complying with the Fire Safety order will rest with the employer and any other person who has control of any part of the premises. Responsibility for enforcement of the new rules will be with the local fire and rescue service authority who will regularly carry out inspections. Top priority will be towards those premises presenting the most risk to the community.

Each organisation is expected to have a fire risk assessment carried out, which must focus on safety in the case of a fire.

We offer a free site survey as an initial fire safety check to understand the levels of compliance with the new fire & safety rules. Following our report we can advise on any further work required.
